Link Your Domain Name Funnel or Page

Written by Chunping Ni
Updated yesterday

When you sign up for an aLeadPage account, you can create and publish your landing page or sales funnel absolutely free for 15 days. When you publish a landing page or sales funnel, it will automatically get its own site address (URL), like https://www.aleadpage.com/ucrt_fb/preview/ahRzfmRyaXAtbWFya2V0aW5nLWhyZHIfCxISRmFjZWJvb2tQYWdlTGF5b3V0GICAgKjRrp4KDA  .

Not very friendly looking, but very useful.

If you would like to connect your own domain (a domain is a site address that you own, for example, www.mydomain.com), you will first have to upgrade your plan to a paid one that includes using your own domain.

If you already have a paid aLeadPage account, you can map it to your pages/funnels following these steps (note that your domain should be pointed to our BasicDNS, BackupDNS or PremiumDNS. Otherwise, you will need to make changes on that side of your hosting/DNS provider):

- Sign into your Namecheap account (The sign-In option is available in the top hat of the page).

- Select Domain List from the left sidebar and click on the Manage button in front of your domain name

domain name assigned to landing page or sales funnel

- Click on the Advanced DNS tab and find the Host records section > click on the Add New Record button (not able to edit Host Records?):

domain, name, lead pages, sales funnel
- Now configure two A records for @ and www hostnames pointing to 54.244.114.118 IP address:

domain name, landing page, sales funnel

- Save changes using the corresponding green button. Normally, it takes 30 minutes for newly created host records to take effect.

Once you've done so, please make sure your domain is not mapped to the namecheap Parking Page.

You might need to remove the following records to have the correct page displayed after the setup:

<namecheap4.png>

domain name, landing page, sales funnel

After your settings have been activated, you need to make sure aleadPage knows about your custom domain so that it can direct visitors to your site.

Just log into your aLeadPage account and follow these instructions:

1. Click on the My Templates button along the top menu bar;

2. Select Edit next to the page you want to assign a domain name;

3. An edit menu will popup, enter your domain name (backstagebill.com or www.backstagebill.com) into the assigned Url input: http://backstagebill.com

4. Select Edit Page and the domain you already own is linked to your aLeadPage landing page/sales funnel.

Congratulation you have mapped a domain name to a page/funnel on aLeadPage.com

Evan Wiggles on June 10, 2014

We have provide a couple different methods to do A/B Split Testing.

We provide areas on each page to post any analytics code you want, but
you'll need to use VWO's, Google's, etc., documentation and support if you need any help along the way.

And don't forget, aLeadPage provides A/B Split testing. Easy to set up and you can test up to 5 pages.
